Description:

When anterior segment surgery complications happen, anterior segment and retina specialists often collaborate to care for the patient. This makes untangling billable services (i.e., who provided which services and how those services should be billed) a real challenge.

Join Academy coding experts Sue Vicchrilli, Kristin Carter, MD and Ankoor R. Shah, MD, to understand possible complications, surgical corrections and your best coding options. Coding decisions based on the specialists’ locations (e.g. the same practice or two separate practices) will be discussed. At the end of the webinar, you’ll know how to navigate through coding and decision choices after an anterior segment surgical complication.

Have an interesting case for the experts? Email the scenario to coding@aao.org before Nov. 1.

This webinar covers:
  • How anterior segment and retina specialists successfully partner together to correct surgical complications;
  • Types of complications and associated coding challenges;
  • What to do when the specialists are in the same vs. different practices;
  • When to code corrections as co-surgery vs. individual surgery;
  • The do’s and don’ts of dictating operative notes.

Who should attend:
Anterior segment and retina specialist surgeons, practice administrators, billers and coders

Note: All registrants will get the webinar recording at no additional charge.
